Spring in Brooklyn brings with it a vibrant tapestry of colors, blossoming flowers, and a sense of new beginnings. Imagine this backdrop intertwined with the excitement and elegance of horse racing—a truly unique combination that sets the stage for an unforgettable Brooklyn wedding celebration. Rahel and Najja opted for bold jewel tones, lush floral arrangements, an ice sculpture, and an A-Team of vendors. The couples love story started in Brooklyn, and we were honored to be a part of their beautiful wedding, helping them tie the knot in the same place where their love blossomed.

The day started at the Wythe Hotel in the bridal suite with Rahel getting ready with her favorite girls, while Najja was down the hall, both anxiously awaiting the moment they finally will become husband and wife. While Mema Creations and Fabstylist Sharntai Harris worked their magic on the beautiful bride, vendors were hard at work downstairs in the ceremony and reception spaces. Magnolia by MR was brought on as the florist and understood the assignment! Installing a gorgeous arch surrounded by a garden of lush bold pinks, purples, blues, and greens, as well as a whole ceiling of greenery, complete with gorgeous twinkle lights installed by Universal Light and Sound. The flowers were show stopping, from the ceremony arch to the organic centerpieces to the unique customized candles that looked like flowers themselves. Adding a personal touch to your wedding is our favorite way to get to know our couples, and to infuse your love into the day in unique ways. Rahel and Najja really ran with this idea by having a horse ice sculpture by Okamoto Studio right in the entry way to the reception room that was perfectly lit by the twinkle lights around it. Sticking with the horse racing theme, one of the most iconic escort card walls we have seen made by Social Dream Events was the first thing you saw upon entering the cocktail space. The wall was crafted to be the starting gates of the horse race, with everyone’s table assignment printed on betting tickets, and entitled “The Forever Love Stakes”. It was absolutely perfect for this couple and kept the bold color scheme going.

While all the set up was going on downstairs, the couple shared an intimate first look on the balcony before going around the hotel taking couples portraits. Weddings by Nato captured every moment perfectly, and their photography style perfectly matched the vibes of the day. Alongside the incredible photography team was an equally as talented videography team TCE Videos, to capture those little moments only a video can really capture, such as the moment the bride steps into the aisle and the crowd of family and friends stands in awe. Rahel was played down the aisle to the gorgeous string rendition of Halo by Beyonce, played by the ever talented WeddinGigs. The ceremony is an intimate moment where hearts are racing, everyone’s eyes are on you, and you are professing your love in front of everyone, so it is important to have an officiant that is a calming presence. That is exactly what Robyn Ashley was to Rahel and Najja, she was quick with a joke or a personal anecdote. When the ceremony was coming to an end, Najja took his bride in a romantic kiss, as the guests celebrated with a flower petal toss as they recessed down the aisle to sign their marriage license and make it official!

As the guests enjoyed cocktail hour, the couple took some time alone in their suite to bask in the glory of being finally married! The night continued with a lovely first dance, followed by dinner served under the twinkle lights. Rahel’s sister gave a tear-jerking speech, alongside Najja’s two best friends who had everyone laughing reminiscing about the good old days growing up together. DJ Carver was lighting up the dancefloor for the rest of the night, and the newlyweds were surrounded by love and laughter into the wee hours of the night. We were so honored to have been chosen to be the planners for Rahel and Najja’s bold, fun, unique wedding and are wishing them all the love and happiness for years to come!
