Kayla and Joel’s Spring Wedding to Remember
When you think of iconic hotels in Manhattan, what comes to mind? Maybe The Plaza, The Ritz Central Park, and the St. Regis. Now imagine hosting a wedding at the iconic St. Regis, giving your family and friends an upscale Manhattan experience like no other! This is exactly what Kayla and Joel had in mind when choosing their venue and designing their wedding at the St. Regis New York this past March. After getting proposed to in Greece, Kayla and Joel kicked off their wedding planning right away to have a formal wedding within a year of the engagement.
On a rainy March Saturday morning, Kayla’s favorite girls gathered in the iconic Dior Suite for a morning of mimosas and pampering. While Joel was downstairs in his own suite with his groomsmen, toasting to a long happy marriage. Kayla’s glam team was the ever talented Sophia V on makeup, and Olivia Halpin on hair, who stayed through the duration of the event for touch ups and dress changes! Our bride was nothing short of regal in her custom Lee Petra Grebenau dress, complete with a dramatic veil and lace removable sleeves. Stunning guests as she made her grand double-door entrance into the Versailles room of the St. Regis, Kayla and her father’s eyes welled with tears at the site of her almost-husband at the end of the altar. With their family and friends gathered, Chris Shelley with Illuminating Ceremonies made everyone laugh, cry, and cheer for the lovebirds throughout the ceremony. As the newlyweds shared their first kiss as a married couple, 4 Artist Management’s string trio and piano, or 4AM, played the couple back down the aisle in a beautiful swell of strings. Guests were then welcomed up to the Penthouse of the St. Regis where they were welcomed with delicious passed canapes and a piano serenade. During cocktail hour, couples traditionally take this time to continue taking photos with their family and friends if there were shots missed before the ceremony. Emily Li Photography took the couple to the St Regis stairwell and took some of the most iconic portraits of Kayla and Joel that they will cherish forever. Their pup even stopped by for a few closeups!
During this time, the amazingly seasoned St. Regis staff was putting the finishing touches on the reception space – dimming the lights, lighting the candles, setting the mood. When Kayla and Joel entered the reception space on the enclosed roof of the hotel, they could not contain their smiles, and isn’t that the best compliment as a wedding vendor?! The floral design by FLOWERBX was perfect for the space, with high and low centerpieces, and even a mini tree arrangement on the couple’s sweetheart table and escort card table! Their green and white pallet perfectly complimented the purples and golds of the St. Regis. During the wedding day, the couple also hired a content creator to capture the behind the scenes, and so they could have something to look back on immediately, before the photo gallery is ready for review. Follow the Bride was great to work with and captured the cutest moments! The couple shared their first dance to Stevie Wonders “For Once in My Life”, followed by a carefully curated playlist of songs created by the DJ, Chris with 4AM. The couple entertained their night saying hello to family, enjoying the specialty dirty martini bar, taking silly photos at the photobooth provided by Flux Photobooth, and with a champagne tower made complete by the iconic saber bottle popping by the St. Regis head of catering. The night was wrapped up with an after party after the older guests went to bed, and the couple with their best friends got down to some fun house music until the late hours of the night.
From the start of the day in the Dior Suite to the end of the after party, Kayla and Joel’s wedding was nothing short of iconic. From the dramatic florals to the team of photo and videographers, to the incredibly talented St Regis catering team, we all were enjoying the festivities! We are wishing Kayla and Joel a lifetime of happiness and love, and we were honored to have been a part of their special day.
