As the leaves turn vibrant shades of red and gold, the Prospect Park Boathouse in Brooklyn, New York, emerges as a picturesque venue for couples seeking a chic fall wedding. In this blog, we’ll explore the elements that made a fall wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse a uniquely stylish and enchanting affair for Meredith and Matt.

Let’s start at the beginning, bright and early in the morning Meredith and all her closest girls gathered in a suite at the 1Hotel to get their hair and makeup done by Lemondy NYC. Looking chic as ever, they had no choice but to have a full glam in PJ’s photoshoot and we are obsessed with the final shots! After the much-needed girl time, Meredith got zipped into her perfectly tailored Leah Da Gloria dress by her mother while looking out on the New York skyline. The couple’s first look was nothing short of emotional, and the love in Matt’s eyes was unmatched. These moments were perfectly captured by Megan Kay Photography and Athina’s Lens. After the couple and their wedding party trapsed all around the Prospect Park, the ended back at the Boathouse just before guests started to arrive. The Highline Quartet played modernly classic songs as guests filed onto the back patio of the Boathouse to their seats, where they were all given a newspaper program and flower cones to toss pedals at the newlyweds. As if the ceremony and this couple couldn’t be perfect enough, two swans (who mate for life) made an appearance as Matt and Meredith exchanged vows. It was truly a sight to behold.

Directly following the ceremony, guests were introduced to an array of delicious canapes and carefully crafted signature cocktails. Something we always suggest to couples is wedding favors and activities that their guests will actually like and cherish. Meredith and Matt did this wonderfully by hiring the talented Deanna Kei, a fashion and beauty illustrator for live events. During this time, the amazing team at Purslane and our gorgeous florist A Lily Among Thorns were putting the final touches to the tablescape and reception space. Guests were soon ushered to their seats inside the Boathouse and the dancefloor was immediately on fire after the couple’s first dance, thanks to DJ Carver the Great. Dinner followed with an emotional speech by Meredith’s father. Soon after, our bride was itching to get on that dance floor so she hurried upstairs to change into a floor length, high slit, sparkly party dress that had everyone in awe of her beauty. Meredith and Matt, and their guests, know how to have a good time and that dancefloor was packed all night!

Before we knew it, the night was unfortunately coming to an end. We ushered the guests outside one last time to orchestrate a streamer goodbye tunnel and they sure understood the assignment! But not before Meredith and Matt had a final, private last dance where they could take in the magical moment together. Meredith and Matt’s wedding was nothing short of perfectly chic, wonderfully attended, and full of love. Thank you for inviting Alinato to be a part of your day, it was truly a highlight of our wedding season.
