Love is a force that brings people together, and it’s celebrated in countless ways around the world. One of the most beautiful and meaningful ways to celebrate love is through a wedding. This past June, on the perfect late Spring Day, the sweetest couple Rosie and James embarked on a journey of a lifetime by saying “I do” at the picturesque and iconic Brooklyn Venue, Prospect Park Boathouse! Their wedding was a magical affair filled with love, laughter, and unforgettable moments. Let’s take a closer look at this enchanting day that united these two love birds in matrimony!

The Prospect Park Boathouse is a hidden gem nestled within the heart of Brooklyn. Not only is this one of our most frequented wedding venues, but the Prospect Park Boathouse also plays home to what seems like all movies from the 80’s-2000’s. Surrounded by lush greenery, serene lakes, and the sound of chirping birds, it provides the perfect backdrop for a romantic New York wedding. Rosie and James’ decision to get married at this venue was the perfect decision, it fit their vibe immaculately. Rosie walked down the aisle looking radiant as ever in a timeless gown that accentuated her grace, while her handsome groom James waited for her as the picture of sophistication in a tailored suit. The love was pouring out of all the guests and could be felt even by the passersby from the bridge and surrounding park. Rosie and James had special guest Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor bless the couple’s marriage, and they finally said “I do” under a gorgeous pastel floral arch.

Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests were welcomed into the boathouse for the reception. The venue’s rustic wooden beams and large windows provided an intimate and cozy setting for the celebration. The reception tables were adorned with white linen and packed with the cutest budvases, expertly designed by Fern Botanica. A delicious feast catered by Purslane awaited the guests, featuring an array of cuisine that catered to every palate. The wedding cake, by Clementine Bakery, was a masterpiece, serving as a sweet representation of the couple’s commitment to a life filled with love and fun. What truly set Rosie and James’ wedding apart from all the others was the love and laughter that filled the air from the second doors opened. Friends and family shared heartfelt speeches, funny anecdotes, and wishes for the couple’s future. Rosie’s father was chosen to speak about his little girl and everyone, even us planners, were tearing up at his words and admiration for his smart and beautiful daughter. James’ brother was also chosen to give a speech that left the guests buckled over in laughter at their brotherly love. The couple then shared their first dance to the iconic voice of Ella Fitzgerald’s “Love Walked In”, followed by the hora that got everyone packed on to the dancefloor! James Mulry was the perfect fit for James and Rosie’s DJ, he carefully curates the best playlist for each couple he works with. Throughout the day and into the evening, the highlights of the day from the first look to the party that ensued were captured by the talented 98 Wedding Co., both on film and photo.

Rosie and James’ wedding at the Prospect Park Boathouse in June was a celebration of love, commitment, and the beauty of shared dreams. The enchanting setting, personalized details, and the joyous atmosphere created a day that will forever be etched in the hearts of everyone present. As they embark on this new journey together, the couple leaves behind a legacy of love that will inspire those who had the privilege of witnessing their magical day. We here at Alinato were honored to be a part of their planning journey since the beginning and, wish this beautiful couple all the love and happiness life has to offer.
